Search On GOOGLE Directly From The Address Bar of Firefox !

Firefox Browser has a Google Search box next to the address bar. But some of you may be lazy in moving the mouse from the address bar to the Google Search Bar. So, now such persons can enter the search term directly in the Address Bar of Firefox and just hit enter to search on Google instead of using the separate Google Search bar which is next to the address bar in Firefox. You could do this in two ways, one is using the Bookmark option and the other method is by editing the about:config Chrome file on Firefox. The difference between these two methods are, if you use the first method using the bookmark option you have to mention a keyword like ‘ g ‘ or anything before the search term. But, if you use the second method by doing a little hack in the about:config chrome of Firefox you could directly enter the search term in the address bar without any other extra characters and just hit enter. Let’s see how to hack Firefox to search on Google directly using the address bar. Method 1 : Using the Bookmark. 1. Select Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks 2. Click New Bookmark button. 3. Type Google Search in the Name field. 4. In the Location field, enter http://google.com/search?q=%s 5. Type ‘ g ‘ (without quotes) in the keyword field and press . Now to run a Google search in the address bar, enter ‘g’ followed by a space and your search term and hit the enter key. Method 2 : By Hacking about:config chrome file. 1. Type about:config in the Firefox addressbar and hit the enter key. 2. If you are on Firefox 3, click “ I’ll be careful, I promise! ”. 3. Now type keyword.url in the Filter field and set the value as: ” http://www.google.com/search?q= ” (without quotes). 4. Also make sure that the value of keyword.enabled is set to TRUE. Now to run a Google search just type the Search Term in the address bar of Firefox and simply hit the enter key.
