How to Score 100% : Tips for students

There are some tips for the students:

In spite of good preparation and practice, students not able to perform well or give their 100%. There are some points to remember before and in the CBSE Board examination.

  • Read the board question paper: Don’t start your paper just after receiving it, first read it carefully, give little time.
  • Random or Sequence: Some students attempts paper serial wise, its good but if you don’t know a particular question don’t attempt it and mark that one with it as un attempted. It is advised to attempt only those in which you are more confident. This will not only save your time but also make you confident and minimize your stress as well.
  • There would be some students who are still not feeling confident; those students are advised to try to find out the main root of your problem before the examination. Why are you not confident and try to solve that?
  • In case of too much stress the best and simple solution is to shut down your eyes and take deep breaths.
  • Don’t waste your time in solving repeated questions and use your time effectively.
  • Try to take balanced diet and avoid unhealthy food.
  • Those who are already tense and in taking too much stress should not cut down their sleep.
  • As healthy Body = healthy mind
  • Don’t fear: don’t fear with exams rather, board exams are not different; these are just like your school exams. Just do your best and don’t worry for your results. Prepare for the next without worrying for the past one.
  • Exercises and yoga: there are some yoga exercises for those who are tense and taking stress. Students should practice these yoga exercises to deal with this problem.
  • Check your Examination material: before leaving for the exam check for all your important things like pen, pencil, board roll number etc.
  • Planning: proper planning is required for the board examination to score 100%. So plane it before the examination.
As you prepare for the Class 10 board exams that will determine which college you attend and the career path you choose, you must focus on ways to ease the stress and attempt to formulate a strategy to crack the exams.

"By now you should be done with the syllabus, and have had revised each chapter -- however, it is understandable if you still do not feel confident enough. This is a typical situation that most of tenth graders face during the last months of their academic year. At this point, it is very important to analyze the real cause of this ill feeling and root it out before you sit for your board examinations."

Let us analyze the situation and see how you can overcome it.

The three possible reasons are:
  1. When your peers discuss a question with you and their answer is not quite convincing to you.
  2. When you try to solve some problem and suddenly realize that you are not able to do it.
  3. When your teacher initiates a discussion on a topic which you know very well and you suddenly discover that there is much more to it than what you know.

So what's the REAL problem?

"In all these situations, the real problem is that although you have assimilated the knowledge, you don't know how to use that knowledge to your advantage. This could, most probably, be due to lack of in-depth understanding of the concept."

"The problem arises when you read through the concepts to gain maximum knowledge about the concept and the knowledge you could actually gain is just superficial. To reinforce knowledge and to understand it correctly and completely, you need to practice by solving the right kind of questions."

The Solution: Choosing the RIGHT Questions
"Now that we know the underlying problem and its solution, the next job is to ensure that the questions identified by you are the right ones. In fact, there are three sources from where you can get the 'right kind of questions'."

(a) The NCERT textbook
"The NCERT textbook contains certain understanding-based questions after every concept dealt with in the book. Basically, the book has been structured in a way that ensures step-by-step learning and assessment of the sub-topics rather than focusing on overall understanding of the topic."
Try to solve these questions on your own and get your answers checked by an expert. Identify the questions that you have got wrong and revise the relevant concept before you attempt them again.

(b) Question bank
A question bank indexed topic-wise or concept-wise can help serve your purpose. Go to a good bookshop and browse through the question banks available. Choose a book that presents the questions concept-wise. Consider the listed question as a mini test on the concept and take it. Get your answers checked by an expert. Look for the concepts you are weak at and work on them.

(c) Online resources
"Although presented in a structured way, the NCERT questions are not comprehensive and very probing. You can only identify the larger chinks in your preparation from it. The types of questions in the question bank may not be application and understanding-oriented."

Another difficulty is that it may not be easy to get your answers evaluated by somebody every single time. This is where online resources like www.tcyonline.com can give you an edge. The tests appearing on www.tcyonline.com are free and evaluation is done at a more advanced platform than that provided by any other available online sources. The main advantage of the tests available on the web site is that they are completely NCERT-based and are very detailed.

"The tests are designed to identify even the minutest chinks in your preparation. A detailed advisory, pinpointing the areas that you need to focus is automatically generated at the end of the test."
"Identifying the chinks in your preparation is just the first step but perhaps the most important one towards a perfect score. It is equally important that you fill in these chinks with the help of your teachers, peers and adequate practice material including your text book."

Tips begin: I :Preparation:

1. Plan Ahead
  • Before you do any work, sit down and plan what you are going to do between now and exams. It is often a good idea to revise the areas you find most difficult first , get the m out of your way and build confidence in the subject. Creating a timetable is always useful, as your time now is precious, so make it work for you. If you cannot plan for yourself get the help of your parents, teachers, or peers to do it for you. Starting early will give you the stress free approach.

2. Make summary Reports.
  • Gather all your material for the topic area, reduce them into brief clear notes. Then summarise those, then again and again until you need only keywords to remember the whole topic. You can carry around the sheet wherever you go. An effective way to make sure you remember certain difficult things in order is invent some mnemonics ,for example VIBGYOR.
  • Understand how your memory works. Some of us are better at remembering things than others. However, here is a trick that should help.
  • "If you learn something new, in general it will already start fading in your memory after a few hours (about 90 % lost within the first 24 hours ) unless it is exciting. However, if you revise it again within the next four hours, it will take 24 hours before it stats fading. Revise again within the 24 hours period, it will lost for 4 days, then one and half weeks, then one month and so on.
  • By setting this revision schedule to make the most of this (learn something, revise it again in the next couple of days and so on )you will be using your memory to your advantage.

3. Put aside specific hours in days for revision.
  • If you set aside the hours in the day you are going to revise, and let everyone know what these are , you can make sure you are not disturbed. You can get into a revision pattern where your mind expects to be revising and it is therefore receptible to the material.

4. Try not to revise more than two subjects a day.
  • Don’t think you need to revise a whole topic at one go Going back the next day to finish revising the topic will renew your knowledge as well as keeping a fresh memory and hopefully help you retain the information longer.

5. Menu: Eat properly.
  • While you are using up energy for revising, it is important that you eat properly so that your body and mind are fit and ready for the exam. Milk, nuts high protein and bananas are good sources of energy. Avoid heavy food.

6. Take lot of breaks:
  • Your mind will only be able to concentrate well for a short periods of time , the first 15 minutes are supposed the best time. Make sure you stop for a few minutes ,every 30 minutes or so. During your break good things to do is to sit back for a few minutes, close your eyes, relax, just think about what you have just learnt.

7. Use Diagrams.
  • Visual stimulus is very important when trying to stay focused on your studies. Colourful pictures and writing will help you stay motivated to learn and also keep the material in your mind for longer.

8. Test yourself.
  • Take a test for yourself or ask someone administer one for you. If you cannot answer any of the questions note the topic down, so you can re learn it afterwards. Practice self assessment test and mock test to develop speed ,self confidence, and time management.
  • Revise for ‘yourself not for other’s sake’
  • You will probably have your friends boasting about how little revision they did last night, do not lose heart and have fears of being swat in the class .In fact however your friends are probably working, just as hard as you . In any case you know how much you know ,how much you need to revise, so just do it and don’t bother about the people around.
  • Don’t think you need to revise a whole topic on one go. Going back the next day to finish revise the topic will renew your knowledge as well as keeping a fresh mind and hopefully help you retain the information for longer time.

9. Try to sleep well.

10. Don’t do any laborious work the evening before your exams.

11. Get up in a relaxed form of mind on the days of examinations, browse through key words which you have prepared during your revision time.

12. At the time of leaving for examinations, check you have taken all the necessary things and your hall ticket

13. Reach the examination hall well in advance.

14. Relax and avoid distractions.

Handling Exam Stress

The following post will give some points to consider during the exam stress.

Set a pace - Work at a speed that cruses you through the task but does not swallow you up. You have to work on it from the very beginning of the session and increase your capabilities gradually.
  • Take regular breaks – Each individual has a concentration span. Identify that and then take short breaks accordingly. This will allow your mind and body to relax
  • Enjoy whatever free time you get – During every break you need to actually take your mind away from the task. Engage yourself in what you enjoy the most. Be creative, listen to music, go for a stroll talk to friends or be with family.
  • Exercise a bit – Take time out for some light exercise or yoga. Move outdoors. This will rejuvenate you. Fresh air does wonders. This is very useful especially if your study hours are long and tedious.
  • Take good care of yourself– Sleep well and eat well. Neglecting yourself during exams is no good. Taking care of yourself boost your confidence and keeps unwarranted anxiety at bay.
  • Remain focused - Reminding yourself of your goal will keep you focused. It usually happens that when you start working on a subject, too many topics pop up. They might be important otherwise but not pertaining to the current situations. Getting into all these new vistas but they certainly enhance pressure.
  • Don’t keep your expectations very high – The moment you do that, stress is gone. When you tell yourself that it is ok even if you don’t top the class, you will feel relaxed. Now, you can start working towards what best can be done.
  • Be Positive – Don’t let negative thoughts put you down. Keep working as per your timetable and pat your back for every little achievement during preparation.
  • Share what you feel – Parents, peer, teachers they can be good supports and guides. They will understand what you are going through. Speak to them, you will feel better.

MBA Resume Tips

This document covers the steps to take to prepare an MBA-level resume. This is based on feedback from employers.

Tips for a Competitive MBA Resume:

1. For every skill on your resume, ask yourself, “is this relevant to the position/field/industry for which I am applying? If the answer is “no,” take it out.
2. Look at a typical job description that would be of interest to you. Does your resume clearly given examples (not just laundry lists) of the skills and experience being sought for those types of jobs?
3. Does each bullet point on your resume highlight a specific accomplishment that would be of interest in your chosen field, or does it just list duties? Laundry lists of duties don’t sell well unless you’re looking for a job doing what you’re already doing. Accomplishments, especially those you can measure, are the most marketable things to put on resumes.
4. Remove all unnecessary items from your resume such as subjective lists of
skills, reference information, vague objective statements, laundry lists of
irrelevant duties, personal interests that aren’t terribly interesting, personal
data such as marital status, age or health.
5. Have a friend or career counselor go over it with a fine toothed comb for grammatical & spelling errors.

Getting Started:
1. This is the data gathering process for your resume writing. Do not be concerned about the “look” of your resume or the amount of material you are writing down.
2. Gather past performance evaluations and past job descriptions (if available)
3. Take notes beginning with your first, full-time professional position. Include as much detail as possible, such as:

          - Actual title
          - Industry and environment Key responsibilities
          - Special assignments
          - Skills used and developed
          - Groups/departments interacted or collaborated with People, processes or tasks supervised
          - Achievements and impact related to monetary value, numerical figures, percentage increases/decreases
         - Focus on your impact instead of your tasks
         - Include any promotions, special recognitions received

4. Recall and write down as many numbers as possible
         -  Size of teams, length of project, number of people impacted
         -  Size of clients, value of transaction, etc.
5. Quantify results and key lessons learned.
6. List activities you do aside from work that might make an interesting conversation point with a recruiter.Include volunteer groups you have been involved in.

1st Draft
With the notes prepared in the previous section, you can now begin to piece together your resume draft
In the education section, list scholarships, elected positions in school, thesis papers written, study abroad programs you participated in (include pa)
In the experience section, list (in reverse chronological order) internships, independent consulting and full time positions.
In the personal section, list languages you speak, volunteer programs you participate in, hobbies, and U.S. work authorization (if your name
or work experience appear international)
Be clear about dates and locates
Use MM/YY dates to indicate when you worked somewhere.
Avoid gaps in the chronological dates if possible. If unavoidable,
explain (in cover letter) what you were doing during that time.
Use sample resumes to create a clean and concise resume format

Fine Tuning
Packaging is crucial to a successful resume
Review sample resumes for format parameters
Choose a conservative font in 11 or 12 point size
Try to keep it to one page, and definitely no more than two
Use a format that presents information clearly
Use phrases, not full sentences
Write in third person, never use “I”, “me”, or “my”
Avoid using abbreviations, unless necessary (ex: IBM is O.K.)
Limit resume length to two pages maximum
Restrict information to facts only
Make sure to check for spelling and grammatical errors
Focus on your accomplishments, not your tasks
Professional summaries are okay (position at beginning of resume in lieu of objective statement) but should not exceed 3 sentences
Avoid having any chronological gaps in your work experience section
Be concise and eliminate unnecessary words often used as “fillers”

Cut off mark calculation for 12th standard

You might have heard about cut off marks in 12th standard. If you want to do your engineering then you should know about this cut off mark calculation. This post is all about calculation of this cut off marks. First thing you need to do is that you have to concentrate on few subjects.

To calculate, first sum up all marks of physics and chemistry and divide this total by four. You will get some marks this will be out of hundred. Then divide your mathematics mark by two then you will get some mark which is also out of hundred.

Then add these two marks this will count out of two hundred. If you want to go to medical sciences then you have to consider biology marks instead of maths. Assume you have scored 160 in physics, 180 in chemistry and 190 in mathematics then you your cut off marks would be (160 + 180 = 340 / 4 = 85 and 190 / 2 = 95 ) 180. From this you can understand that if you score good marks in mathematical then it will give you good cut off marks. First decide which field you want to go; if you are looking for engineering then you have to concentrate on these three subjects. One of my friends who scored 1005 has got good government engineering college compare to one who scored 1050, this because first guy scored good marks in subjects and less in languages. The second guy scored good in language but it was not useful except giving him good image.

Tips for better hand-writing

1. Start as early as you can. There is no better time to improve your handwriting than now. Ideally handwritings are perfected at a young age. As a person grows older his abilities to bring changes in his handwriting diminishes. So, if you plan to have a better handwriting, do not postpone it to a later date. The earlier you start, the faster you pick up.

2. Evaluate your present handwriting and decide the extent to which you want to improve it. Your workout depends on the kind of handwriting you are trying to develop. If you know exactly what you want it would be far less difficult to attain it. Simply trying to improve your handwriting is not going to help you unless you are sure about the changes you need to make.

3. Try holding your pen in different positions between your thumb, index and middle finger while writing. Sometimes changing the way you hold your pen or pencil can influence your handwriting. There are no standard ways for doing this, so you must try yourself and find out that perfect position which enables you to write effortlessly and comfortably. Stress-free writing is essential for handwriting improvisation and speed.

4. While writing give more pressure to your arm muscles than your wrist and fingers. This will help you gain more control over your handwriting. It will take some time and you need to practice everyday. Also, try writing bigger if your present handwriting is moderately small. This will make your improvisations more apparent.

5. Avoid writing on papers having smooth surfaces. The paper you choose to write should be porous in nature. This gives a grip for your pen or pencil tip when it comes in contact with the paper. This will give you more control on your handwriting.

There are many websites on the net offering free website submission services to search engines. The list of search engines are by and large the same. Some offer fee to send your URL to more than a hundred search engines. Is it necessary to have your webpage listed in all the smaller search engines? We think that Google, Yahoo! and MSN have cornered such a large share of the market that it is sufficient just to have your website listed there. However, the decision is yours to make.If you still want that you can do that that too.

This is for just begginers i don't think if you have good blogs and receive traffic, search engines will automatically index you and most of the small engines drive traffic from big search engines like google.

If you want more sites get from here too

PLEASE VERY URGENT AND CONFIDENTIAL??
From: draogo felix (draogo_felix0019@hotmail.fr)
Reply-to: draogo_felix2@yahoo.fr

My Dear,

I am Mr Draogo Felix, the manager of bill and exchange at the foreign remittance department Bank Of Africa.
In my department we discovered an abandoned sum of US$14.5M (fourteen million five hundred thousand US dollars) in an account that belongs to one of our foreign customer who died along with his family in the 2003 in a plane crash.

Since we got information about his death, we have been expecting his next of kin to come over and claim his money because we cannot release it unless some body applies for it as next of kin or relation to the deceased as indicated in our banking guide lines and laws but unfortunately we learnt that all his supposed next of kin or relation died alongside with him at the plane crash leaving nobody behind for the claim.

It is therefore upon this discovery that I now decided to make this business proposal to you and release the money to you as the next of kin or relation to the deceased for safety and subsequent disbursement since nobody is coming for it and we don't want this money to go into the bank treasury as unclaimed bill.
The banking law and guidelines here stipulates that if such money remained unclaimed after five years, the money will be transferred into the bank treasury as unclaimed fund.

The request of foreigner as next of kin in this business is occasioned by the fact that the customer was a foreigner and a Burkina cannot stand as next of kin to a foreigner.
I agree that 45% of this money will be for you as respect to the provision of a foreign account , 5% will be set aside for expensis incurred during the business and 50% be for me.

Thereafter, I will visit your country for disbursement according to the percentage indicated. Therefore, to enable the immediate transfer of this fund to you as arranged, you must apply first to the bank as relation or next of kin of the deceased indicating your bank name, your bank account number, your private telephone and fax number for easy and effective communication and location where the money will be transfer.

Upon receipt of your reply, I will send to you by fax or email the text of the application. I will not fail to bring to your notice that this transaction is hitch-free and that you should not entertain any atom of fear as all required arrangements have been made for the transfer.
You should contact me immediately as soon as you receive this mail, Trusting to hear from you immediately.

Yours faithfully.
Mr Draogo Felix,
